While driving to visit family in the fall of 2004, I started across a bridge on highway 51 in north central Illinois about mid-afternoon.  When I realised how long and tall the bridge was I exited as soon as I crossed and went exploring.  I was in the city of Peru, the bridge crossed the Chicago river.  I found a many interesting subject.  As it became late afternoon I hiked to the base of the bridge through a walkway along the north side of the river and shot until dark.  I wasn't happy though, and decided to stay the night, to shoot in the morning light, before continuing on my way.

Next morning, I headed out at about 5:30, frost on the ground.  This time I drove to the south end of the bridge.  As the sun rose, I took one of my very popular images.  The title came to me while shooting that moring while surrounded by a magical sight.
