One Hour at Schwabacher's Landing 2010-09

One Hour at Schwabacher's Landing ©2010 Alan Schrank

I arrived at the road to Schwabacher's Landing just as the last sunset photographer was pulling out. At the end of the road the gravel parking lot was empty.  I grabbed my camera, tripod and assorted other gear and hiked down the path passed the beaver pond.  Even though the sun had set, the light behind the mountains was still way too bright.  I sat and waited taking a high ISO test picture every few minutes.  After waiting a long time I lowered the ISO to 100 and got down to business.  20 minutes wasn't enough.  The moon was at half full, 30 minutes was pretty good, but still about a stop under exposed. I locked my remote release, hiked back to the car to get my sweatshirt and an apple, it was getting chilly. An hour later I unlocked the remote release.
